4 Kids Wild Rumpus

On Wednesday, December 2, 2009, Heritage Community Initiatives' 4 Kids Early Learning program and its Early Reading First team, held a special child literacy event called "A Wild Rumpus Literacy Night Extravaganza." The event, open to all 4 Kids children, families, employees and guests was held at the main 4 Kids Early Learning Center facility in Braddock. Approximately 100 people participated in the event that highlighted one of the most beloved children's books of all time, Maurice Sendak’s, "Where The Wild Things Are."

4 Kids staff helped bring the story to life with interactive read aloud sessions and associated hands-on activities. Each participating family received their very own copy of the book and were eligible to win 4 free movie passes to see the recently released movie at Loews Theatre at the Waterfront.

By all accounts the event was a huge success!
